Honest disclaimer: most of these apps are labelled early alpha or in development. They are genuinely usable for light work and experimenting, but they are not yet drop-in replacements for professional, deadline-critical pipelines. Keep your current tools as the primary and test these on copies of your files. Always download from official channels — this page is an independent directory, not the vendor.

Frequently asked

What is ArtCraft?

ArtCraft (by the storytold organisation) is a family of creative and office applications rewritten from scratch in Rust. It targets the tools most people rent from Adobe, Microsoft and Autodesk — Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Figma, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat and AutoCAD.

Is it really free?

Yes. Every application is free and open source (MIT or Apache-2.0). No subscription, no ads, no account. Most apps also run directly in the browser.

Can it fully replace Adobe or Office?

Not yet, and any site telling you otherwise is lying. Most apps are labelled early alpha or in development. They are great for trying out, light work, open-source enthusiasts and automation. For professional, deadline-critical work, keep your existing tools as the primary and these as the experiment.

How do I install it?

Start with ArtCraft Launcher: it detects your OS, installs the right builds and keeps everything updated. You can also download each app individually from its official site or GitHub.

Which platforms are supported?

macOS, Windows, Linux and the browser (WebAssembly builds). FilmCraft is currently the only app without a web build.

Is this website official?

No. This is an independent, community-maintained English landing page. We are not affiliated with ArtCraft or storytold. All software and trademarks belong to their respective owners; always download from official channels.

Why this exists

Creative and office software has been rental-only for a decade. ArtCraft is an attempt to rebuild the same categories in Rust — small binaries, local-first processing, no telemetry. Whether it succeeds is an open question, and the only useful answer is a per-app status you can check before you invest time. That is what this page tracks.
